Born on 17 June 1876 in the tent near Grenfell New South Wales to a struggling goldfield couple, Henry Lawson deserves a place alongside Banjo Paterson as Australia’s best known poet and story teller. He was afflicted with deafness for most of his life and in later years became an alcoholic.
His style epitomised the nationalist, white-settler bush tradition of the later 1800s.
In this text you will find his much loved favourites peoms and prose and more:
The Roaring Days
The Loaded Dog
The Drover’s Wife
When your Pants Begin To Go
Andy’s Gone With Cattle
Jack Dunn of Nevertire
The Song Of Australia
