Matt is our true blue all over-rover Aussie. On meeting him you will probably get the standard G’day. He loves the bush and the passion he has about the Goldfields and mining is addictive when you join him on a Super Pit Tour of the MASSIVE KCGM Super Pit.
Matt is definitely the man to see if you’re wanting some advice on a new detector or are looking at getting into prospecting.
Matt’s passion of this land is obvious and his beliefs are summed up in the following paragraph;
The true prospector seems to have a certain instinct or gift for finding gold, which is not attributable to luck alone. He is a man who sees mother earth not just as ground to be trodden upon or to dig in but something alive and personal, almost like a book which he must learn to read. He notices hills valleys and outcrops and the various types of soils and rocks in the immediate and wider vicinity. He may not be a trained Geologist but he certainly has the mind of a geologist. He is prepared to study the stones and the terrain, as an academic studies a book.
He is a keen bushman with as fine perception of vegetation, natural landmarks and watercourses. A good knowledge of the bush and where water may be obtained is essential to the prospector, for he knows that all the gold in the world is valueless to a man lost in the bush or dying of thirst.

"I first inherited a passion for prospecting through my Mum and Dad, who have been gold detecting for many years. I saw the enjoyment they got from this and was instantly drawn to it! I love everything about the Goldfields, the friendly people, lifestyle, and am proud to call Kalgoorlie home."
Steph has been with us since April 2008. At Kalgoorlie Tours and Charters she will be more than happy to assist you with all your tour bookings, souvenirs, merchandise and any other queries you may have.

“I moved to Kal with my fiance' in December 2007, and I have to say there is no doubt that this town is fast becoming home. Having always had a passion for tourism it was amazing to see what Kalgoorlie has to offer. A bit of info on Trace...
Trace is a Kalg girl with a family tree of Boulder born and bred ancestors. “Kalgoorlie-Boulder is in my blood, my dad’s side of the family is from the region and you seriously couldn’t get a better place to grow up, live and work in. Kalg has so much to offer to new residents and visitors alike.”
“We live in the Goldfields which pretty much say’s it all. I have travelled Overseas for three years and I have to admit there definitely is no place like home. I’ve never seen the stars in the Milky Way, quite like a night camped in a rolled out swag in the Goldfields bushland. We really do come from a lucky part of the country.”
Trace has a background as a process technician on both gold and nickel plants and prior to mill operating worked as a travel agent.
